SHIVA SEDUCED BY KAMDEVA & SPOUSE RATI TO MARRY PARVATI

Brahma Purana

The Brahmanda Purana credits the recreation of the universe to Lalita, the manifestation of supreme Dev or Para Shakti. Some say, that she created Brahma and Saraswati from her Soma (left; denoting the moon) eye, Vishnu with Lakshmi from her Surya (right; denoting the sun), and Shiva and Parvati from her Agni (third; denoting fire) eye.

TARAKA-SUR DEMON

She is known as Tripurasundari, Shodashi and Rajarajeshwari. She is the Maha Maya, who saved the world from destruction by Tarakasura. When Tarakasura threatened to overthrow the gods from Amravati and take over the universe, the gods all beseeched the lord creator, Mahashambhu for help. Mahashambhu foretold, “Only the son of Shiva and Parvati can defeat the asura.

How to Get sex drive restored to Shiva (through Kama & Rati)

Yet, Shiva had taken a vow of absolute asceticism and celibacy after the death of Sati and refused to come out of his cave. The gods, desperate, recruited the help of Kama, the god of desire. Kama flew on his parrot to Shiva’s abode.

KAMA FAILED THE FIRST ATTEMPT

Kama’s presence made the cold and dark cave spring with flowers and fragrance. Holding his sugarcane bow, he shot an arrow made of flowers right into Shiva’s heart. Shiva felt his desires awakening, which made him furious with Kama. He opened his third eye and decimated Kama to ashes.

Rati, Kama’s wife was distraught and she begged Shiva to reanimate her husband. Shiva finding pity for the love of a wife, stared at the ashes, out of which grew a young boy named Bhandasura, whom Shiva gave a boon of extreme strength and invincibility. The power went to Bhandasura’s head and he wanted to destroy the gods and take their place, so the gods, once again, went to Mahashambhu for help, “Get the Saptarishis to perform a maha agni yagna from which the Para Shakti will be born as Lalita. Only she can rid you of Bhandasura.”

SAPTARSHI PERFORM YAGYA.

So, the Saptarishis performed the yagna, out of which came Lalita, who was powerful enough to create her own consort, Kameshwara.

Lalita created four weapons with the power of her will— ikshu dhanush (bow), five arrowspasha (noose), and ankusha (hook). The battle raged between the Lalita’s army and that of Bhandasura, and finally Lalita Devi discharged the Mahakameshawarastra and annihilated Bhandasura.

However, even as Bhandasura was dead, the problem of Tarakasura persisted, but Kama was still dead. So, Lalita looked at her own husband, Kameshwara so lovingly, that Kama reincarnated from the power.

KAM DEV SUCCESSFUL

She then told Kama, “Go and try your arrow on Shiva, again. This time, he will lose to your powers and marry Parvati.” True to Lalita’s word, Shiva and Parvati married and gave birth to Kartikeya,
